Internet Republic

Internet Republic

Internet RepublicInternet Republic is a sort of an online parliament where anyone may set up his/her own political party, promote ideas and receive support. This is a political, sociological, media and technological experiment exploring the concept of direct democracy. In this virtual state, all the citizens are members of parliament.

Possible Serbia

Possible Serbia

Citizens have said what, in their view, the greatest problems in the society are, and, at the same time, put forth solutions. On the Possible Serbia portal, which is a sort of a market for exchange of citizens’ ideas, there will be awards for the best possible initiatives and proposals. New ideas are sought, new solutions and new answers, which will help those who will come to power in the future.

The Initiative for Integration (IFI) from Vranje publicly presented its project “Visibility of MPs in the Serbian National Assembly”, which is being implemented in cooperation with three partner organizations from Nis, Jagodina and Novi Sad. Supercitizen – citizens against violence

Supergradjanin

The interactive on-line platform www.supergradjanin.com allows citizens to report on acts of violence in their communities. Citizens can post messages, photos and videos related to several different types of violent acts, such as domestic violence, ethnically motivated violence, work-based violence, violence against the LGBT community and violence against animals. Dokukino and partner organizations will organize promotional local-level actions to inform citizens how to report on cases of violence over the Supercitizen platform. Throughout April, street actions will be organized in Bot, Negotin, Zajecar, Novi Becej, Novi Sad and Belgrade.

Stvarno Važno

Don’t let others decide for you

Izaberi

The “Don’t let others decide for you” campaign motivates young people to participate in the political dialogue in the upcoming general and presidential elections. Center E8 and the High School Students Union are working to develop a comprehensive list of demands and expectations of young people, facilitate a public dialogue between youth and political parties, and create mechanisms for holding political parties accountable to youth. The campaign’s web-platform www.izaberi.rs allows young people to state their expectations and demands from politicians and serves as a channel to communicate with political party representatives.

Millions of people throughout the world earn their living by collecting, sorting, recycling and selling materials discarded by someone else. Anđelka Marković - If You Keep Silent, then Put up with It
Gross social injustices, vulnerability of certain social groups, passive key stakeholders. In societies, such as Serbia, undergoing transition, particularly a long and arduous one, these notions are unrelated. We often ponder if we, as citizens, are important only when elections are held? Is there any other space where the implementation of key changes in the society may (or must) be influenced?
